When at some point a divine beam from the Source of the True Light, fills with wisdom the carrier (of flesh) of a man, he has two ways of dealing with it.
One is to feel good about himself and fill up with satisfaction and confidence for what he achieved.
The other is to turn his eyes towards the Source of This Divine Beam, recognize It and become one with It. And by extension, accept his essential emptiness, realizing that his “value” comes from “Εlsewhere”.
The resulting difference from the two different approaches is that in the first case, the person feels that it is worthy and develops his “Ego”. But this “ego” is the “scissors” that
cuts off/separates the person from the Divine Source, as the person believes that “It is”.
The “Ego” is an individualization, that happens when “something” is cut off from its Source and seeks to autonomously survive. It is a complete opposite characteristic and inversely proportional to the property of the Spirit. Ego≠Spirit.
In the second case, he realizes his emptiness, recognizes the Divine Source as the Reason for his wisdom, and unites with It.
[THE GOSPEL OF JOHN, CH 15] “§4. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the vine-branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vive, so, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.”
But when he unites with the Source, he loses his “Ego”. He is like the drop of water that unites with the ocean and loses its individuality.
If we look at the issue even deeper, we will see the resemblance of the disconnected “Ego” of men, with the disconnected creator of this world, who in order to move as independent –as Ego- he separated from his Godly Community and became fallen.
“One can ascertain one’s self as to who the great ‘Deceiver’ is, if they search for him with open eyes and unprejudiced mind in all ancient Cosmogonies and Scriptures. It is the human-formed Creator, the Demiourgos of Heaven and Earth, when he separated himself from the collective Hosts (Multitudes) of his companions.” [BLAVATSKY H.P., “THE SECRET DOCTRINE”]
…That is the fallen beam of Light, that as Lucifer (Light bringer), he curved and writhed himself around the forbidden tree of knowledge of good and evil and created the oscillation of this world.
So there lies the difference between the charlatans and the genuine/real ones.
Charlatans “shine” and display themselves like peacocks. They have “poise”, “style”, “magniloquence”, “arrogance”, and are always accompanied by their followers, because they get power and importance from them.
The genuine ones, are unseen, unimportant and reclusive, because their strength does not come from the world, but from the eternal Spiritual Source.
